چکیده
The surface interaction stress distributions (pressure and shear stress) forces (normal force) between a sphere half-space with one-dimensional periodic material distribution are calculated numerically. is based on the Lennard-Jones (LJ) potential expressed as Fourier series. With minimum distance of 0.2 nm, size effects spherical radius stresses quantitively discussed. show strong correlations half-space. were by integrating acting surface. They at every position in distribution. We reveal dependence forces. Under conditions this study, normal force increases linearly, whereas exhibits local radius.

Interaction forces between a spherical nanoparticle and a flat surface.
Due to the breakdown of Derjaguin approximation at the nanoscale level apart from the neglect of the atomic discrete structure, the underestimated number density of atoms, and surface effects, the continuum Hamaker model does not hold to describe interactions between a spherical nanoparticle and a flat surface. In this work, the interaction forces including van der Waals (vdW) attraction, Born ...
متن کاملAdhesion forces between wetted solid surfaces.
We investigate in this paper the influence of wetting films on the adhesion forces between macroscopic solid surfaces connected by a liquid bridge. We show that the capillary forces are dependent on the interactions governing the wetting layers, and that those interactions may be determined from the measurement of the capillary force in the presence of a condensable vapor. We illustrate those r...
متن کاملTheoretical and Computational Aspects of Scattering from Periodic Surfaces: One-dimensional Transmission Interface
We consider the scattering from and transmission through a one-dimensional periodic surface. For this problem, the electromagnetic cases of TE and TMpolarization reduce to the scalar acoustic examples. Three different theoretical and computational methods are described, all involving the solution of integral equations and their resulting discrete matrix system of equations for the boundary unkn...
متن کاملProtecting Surfaces Using One-Dimensional Nanostructures
Ultraviolet waves, because of their short wavelength, have a high energy and considerable damaging effects on surfaces. Protection against ultraviolet radiations is one of the finishing treatments done on surfaces exposed to sunlight. The importance of this issue in relation to human health, due to complications such as skin burns and cancer, is doubled. Up t...
متن کاملOne Dimensional Internal Ballistics Simulation of Solid Rocket Motor
An internal ballistics model has been developed for performance prediction of a solid propellant rocket motor. In this model a 1-D unsteady Euler equation with source terms is considered. The flow is assumed as a non-reacting mixture of perfect gases with space and time varying thermo physical properties. The governing equations in the combustion chamber are solved numerically by using the Steg...
